According to Gallup’s State of the American Workplace 2017, “In 2016, 33% of U.S. employees were engaged – involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace.”

That figure remains very consistent year after year. Even with all of the investments in HR technology and results achieved, the engagement gap remains. Maybe it’s because we’ve focused too much on automating processes and compliance strategies rather than on the “talent” part of talent management. Maybe we’ve been focused so far on managing employees and rather than on managing employee experiences.

Take a look at the Gallup report. And when you’re done, download the SilkRoad’s Employee Experience in 2025, which includes four industry experts’ thoughts on the future of the modern workforce and the impact of two trends on engagement and retention: personalized experiences and employees taking ownership of their careers.
