Yesterday, SilkRoad announced the winners of the 2018 Talent Activation Awards, created to honor outstanding employer branding and design, innovative candidate-to-new hire experiences, and strategic excellence in leveraging the onboarding process to activate talent to drive business outcomes. Presented at Connections, SilkRoad’s annual user conference, the awards included a top overall honor (Talent Activation) and three subcategories honoring outstanding program elements: Strategic ROI, Best Brand Experience, and New Hire Enablement.

Top Honors Were Awarded To:

Talent Activation Award – Accenture

Sarah Knights – North American Onboarding & Integration Lead

By personalizing the new joiner experience, Accenture ensures this “moment that matters” to each person reflects their role, location, experience, and any number of factors. Accenture creates connections from offer acceptance through the first year, onboarding around 10,000 new joiners in North America every year. With the program, Accenture achieves 100% compliance from new joiners, while enabling them to focus on their own individualized, unique journey.

New Hire Enablement Award – Gulfstream Aerospace

Kathleen Giannatasio – Senior HR Technology Analyst

Much like the customer experiences aboard its aircraft (first impressions are everything and not easily forgotten), Gulfstream Aerospace provides hands-on, personalized employee onboarding experiences. The moment a new hire signs an employee agreement, Gulfstream delivers a first-rate experience designed to activate the new talent well before their first day enabling them to arrive at their new job with questions answered and no hesitation that they’re starting their employment on the right foot. Utilizing SilkRoad Onboarding, each new hire is welcomed with a personalized email from their manager and an employee video explaining the culture and provided an in-person orientation with a custom designed game to bring Gulfstream’s culture and strategy to life.

Best Branded Experience – NCSOFT

Tresa Hoang – Director, Human Resources Operations

NCSOFT’s goal was to deliver a best in class onboarding program that would engage new hires immediately upon acceptance of an offer. It leveraged the “NC Launch” branded onboarding site as a way to introduce new hires to its culture and get them excited about joining NCSOFT as well as to equip them with the knowledge and socialization required to be successful on day one. The NC Launch platform provides an experience for new hires that strengthens the employment brand, accelerates new hire performance and maximizes retention. The onboarding program also gives new hires an opportunity to collaborate with hiring managers early in the new-hire process.

Strategic ROI Award – HomeAway

Erica Shelgren – Director, Global HR Operations

HomeAway’s ability to use automated workflows tailored to each of their global locations improved their employee onboarding experience in addition to decreasing the number of tasks needed to successfully relocate an employee. The company also streamlined international employee onboarding from a process that took 29 business days to three or fewer by using the SilkRoad Onboarding Global Mobility workflow and was able to reduce the number of manual steps needed to complete employee relocation from 11 to one.
