What is cloud computing?

“Cloud computing” means technology is provided on an on-demand basis via the Internet. In comparison, companies can use conventional on-premise IT, where applications are run exclusively on an internal infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, firewalls, load balancers and other hardware.

What is a cloud platform?

A “cloud platform” provides a foundation for a set of technology services to run individually or as an integrated solution. By selecting software products built on a platform, companies gain the flexibility of being able to meet basic needs and then expanding. For example, starting with a recruitment system and then expanding to fully integrated onboarding, learning, and other solutions. Expansion can often be done using a browser without requiring IT involvement. Cloud platforms offer numerous time and cost-saving advantages over on-premise systems, allowing users to evolve over time to business changes.
