Lifestyle Family Fitness, a health club focused on providing a fun and friendly experience for members, has grown significantly from its original club in 1982 to more than 56 locations in 2008, with 2,800 employees spread out across their corporate office in St. Petersburg, Florida and at clubs in Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and Florida. As the company grew, executives realized they needed a solution that would streamline and consolidate their human resource processes, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.
The Search for a Rich and Fully-Featured HR Offering
Critical to Lifestyle's search for a talent management solution was a product that would streamline the HR experience by combining related tasks and processes, eliminate paperwork, address various compliance issues, and make sure the company's culture was represented in each Lifestyle branch.

After implementing SilkRoad's recruiting management solution, OpenHire, Lifestyle immediately found the job match functionality worked "incredibly well" for them by narrowing the candidate pool to focus on the best talent. OpenHire's resume creation functionality also helped engage new candidates that were great fits for positions.
OpenHire greatly improved the company's accuracy in tracking jobs across several categories including active jobs, equal employment opportunity, applicants by source, applicants by location, time to fill, time to fill by locations, and time to fill by title. Prior to implementation, Lifestyle had struggled with obtaining accurate measurements for their recruiting efforts. OpenHire has helped track those efforts, and ensured adherence to the hiring process without skipped steps or missing paperwork.
Rolling Out the RedCarpet for a Growing Workforce
"Prior to Lifestyle's implementation of SilkRoad's RedCarpet, the company was struggling with its approach to onboarding," said Leslie Daley, Vice President of Team Services, Lifestyle Family Fitness. As the company grew to include dozens of locations and thousands of employees, compliance monitoring became an increasingly time-intensive task with extensive paperwork, and clubs were beginning to grow diverse identities and cultures of their own. RedCarpet has already helped the company improve its compliance with federal regulations, including an automated approach to e-Verify and a jump in sexual harassment training from 56 percent to 82 percent.

When launching SilkRoad's performance management solution, WingSpan, Lifestyle was eager to implement, and the smooth deployment helped the company develop a consolidated company appraisal process that has already been rolled out company-wide with great success.
