John Shackleton
President & Co-Chief Executive Officer
John Shackleton serves as President and Co-CEO of SilkRoad. Mr. Shackleton has been an innovative visionary in the software industry for more than 30 years. Prior to joining SilkRoad, John served as the President and CEO of Open Text Corporation, heading a $1.0 billion (USD) software company that became the world’s leading independent provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software. John’s extensive background in software and services management includes IT, consulting, product development, and sales management roles. He joined Open Text from PLATINUM technology, inc., where he was President of the PLATINUM Solutions division, providing consulting services to Global 2000 customers. Previously, he served as Vice President of Professional Services at Sybase®, Incorporated for the Central U.S. and South America. In addition, John served as Vice President of Worldwide Consulting at ViewStar® Corporation, a document management imaging company based in the Bay Area.

Mike Cullinane
EVP, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Cullinane oversees SilkRoad's financial operations including treasury, finance, and accounting. Mr. Cullinane previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Lakeview Technology, Inc. Mr. Cullinane served as Chief Financial Officer of Divine, Inc. from July 1999 to May 2003. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Platinum Technology, Inc. from 1988 to June 1999.

Brian Platz
EVP, Chief Operating Officer
Brian Platz is the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of SilkRoad technology and is responsible for the overall direction, technology and services to deliver SilkRoad's market leading Life Suite of talent management solutions. Brian has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of SilkRoads clients on executing their talent strategies with the use of technology and innovative techniques. Brian is a frequent author and speaker on the topics of talent management technology, employee onboarding and social networking. Before joining SilkRoad, Brian was the Vice President of product management for divine, inc. where he led the product strategy and direction for divines widely recognized and award winning content management and collaboration products which represented over $100 million in annual revenue. Brian brings a 14-year career in developing Web-based technology, e-business initiatives, and e-commerce solutions with a variety of high-tech start-ups, including Zentropy, Globalist Internet Technologies and InfoBand, an Internet consulting company he founded in 1995. In 1996, Brian co-founded A List Apart, the highly acclaimed Whos Who of Internet developers that has grown into one of the largest and most popular independent Web-zines for aspiring internet technology and design professionals. He also was a Fellow Founding Member of the Web Standards Project, a group formed to push web browsers to adhere to common standards.

Chauncey Kupferschmid
EVP, Chief Sales Officer
Chauncey Kupferschmid is SilkRoad technology, inc.'s Chief Sales Officer and a co-founder of the company. In this role, Mr. Kupferschmid oversees SilkRoad's global sales operations and business development. Prior to SilkRoad technology, inc., Mr. Kupferschmid served as Senior Vice President of Customer Services for divine, inc. His responsibilities included world wide technical support for all divine products, as well as presales systems and field engineering. Before joining divine, Mr. Kupferschmid served in executive and entrepreneurial roles for over 20 years. He capped a nine-year career at PLATINUM technology, inc., by serving as the company's Senior Vice President, Field Operations. In that position, he was responsible for pre-sales systems, engineering, and consulting services for more than 160 products. Previous to joining PLATINUM, Mr. Kupferschmid led product strategy, design, and development efforts at DBMS and STS/SKK.

Wm. Edward Vesely
EVP, Chief Marketing Officer
Ed Vesely is responsible for worldwide marketing at SilkRoad. He is an entrepreneurial marketing and business development executive with a consistent record of growing revenue, market share and business valuation. As SVP of Marketing and Business Development at Vision Solutions his leadership contributed to record revenue (five fold increase), customer growth and earnings. While SVP of Marketing at Click Commerce, he rebranded the company and helped grow revenues from $3 to $40 million leading to an IPO. As VP of Marketing at CA/Platinum Technology, he co-founded three new product divisions, helping drive revenue from $10 to $200 million. While Director of Product Marketing and International Business Development at Accenture, he launched vertical marketing programs, which helped increased revenue by 300 percent to $90 million. He began his career with IBM, where he developed system and application software. Mr. Vesely holds bachelor degrees in Journalism/Public Relations and Computer Science from Northern Illinois University, and an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University.

Tracy McCarthy, SPHR, GPHR
Chief Human Resource Officer
Tracy McCarthy is responsible for the overall strategic direction of human resource initiatives for SilkRoad technology. Tracy is passionate about enabling companies to succeed through building outstanding organizational cultures, ensuring high employee engagement, developing and connecting people, and giving back through corporate social responsibility.
As an experienced Human Resources leader, Tracy brings over 25 years of HR and business leadership experience in a variety of industries, including fortune 500 companies and privately held businesses. Prior to joining SilkRoad technology, Tracy held Human Resources leadership positions at Collections Etc. (now Winston Brands), a direct marketing retailer, Lakeview Technology (now Vision Solutions), a software development company, Corporate Express, a world-wide leader in business to business computer equipment and office supplies, and Dayton-Hudson Corporation (now Target Corporation).
Tracy holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Human Resource Development and Psychology and a Master’s degree from Benedictine University in Management and Organizational Behavior. Tracy obtained her Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR) certification in 2012, her Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 2000, is active in both national and local SHRM groups and is a SHRM national mentor.

Steven Worth
EVP, General Counsel
Mr. Worth oversees the company's legal affairs and helps manage related areas such as compliance, risk management and corporate transactions. Prior to joining SilkRoad, Mr. Worth was the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc., a global publicly traded company, until its sale to PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Worth practiced law with the international law firm Winston & Strawn prior to Diamond and began his career as a consultant with Andersen. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University as well as a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
