John Shackleton – Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
John Shackleton serves as Executive Chairman and CEO of SilkRoad. John has been an innovative visionary in the software industry for more than 30 years. Prior to joining SilkRoad, he served as the President and CEO of Open Text Corporation, heading a $1.0 billion (USD) software company that became the world’s leading independent provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software. John’s extensive background in software and services management includes IT, consulting, product development, and sales management roles. He joined Open Text from PLATINUM technology, inc., where he was President of the PLATINUM Solutions division, providing consulting services to Global 2000 customers. Previously, he served as Vice President of Professional Services at Sybase®, Incorporated for the Central U.S. and South America. In addition, John served as Vice President of Worldwide Consulting at ViewStar® Corporation, a document management imaging company based in the Bay Area.
Kamran Kheirolomoom – President
Kamran Kheirolomoom leads strategy, products, go-to-market, and business development at SilkRoad. With over 25 years of experience in the software and services industry, Kamran comes to SilkRoad with a proven track record of founding, transforming, and building successful companies. He has managed and led several early-stage start-ups and mid-stage enterprise software companies through various stages of growth and execution. He brings extensive experience in all aspects of high technology business, including strategy and market positioning; technology and product development; go-to-market and distribution strategy; financial planning and fund raising; IPO planning and execution; and merger and acquisitions. Throughout his career he has successfully raised both private and public capital to finance company’s operations from start-up to business growth and expansion.
Merri Chandler – Chief Financial Officer
Merri Chandler oversees SilkRoad’s financial operations including treasury, finance, and accounting. Merri joined SilkRoad in 2011 as the Senior Vice President of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2013. Prior to joining SilkRoad, she spent fifteen years in finance and accounting leadership roles at both private and publicly held global technology and professional services companies including Huron Consulting Group, Diamond Management & Technology Consultants and Trading Technologies. Merri began her career in public accounting working for KPMG, LLP and is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accountancy. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Roland Berthelot – Chief Customer Advocate
Roland Berthelot oversees all customer engagements including professional services, adoption and technical support. With more than a decade in cloud computing, consulting and sales, Roland specializes in helping customers transform their business operations through cloud technologies to maximize the end-to-end talent management experience.
Prior to SilkRoad, Roland was Senior Director at Bluewolf Inc., a SaaS consultancy firm focused in agile business transformation leveraging world class cloud solutions. During his time with Bluewolf, he led the growth of its SaaS delivery practice, including Salesforce.com, Big Machines and Eloqua. Roland also held various leadership roles in sales operations at CCC Information Services, TravelCLICK and Kohler Co.
Roland received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his M.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.
Tony Preston – Chief Human Resource Officer
Tony Preston is responsible for the overall strategic direction of human resource initiatives for SilkRoad. He is passionate about enabling companies to succeed through building outstanding organizational cultures, ensuring high employee engagement, developing and connecting people, and giving back through corporate social responsibility.
Tony has an extensive international HR experience having lived and worked in London, England with responsibilities for Europe, Middle-East and Africa, and Hong Kong, responsible for Asia-Pacific. He has held executive HR positions in fast-paced technology companies including Nortel Networks, Andrew Satellite Sub-Systems, and Open Text Corporation.
He received his B.S. Degree from Greenville College and attended the Ivey Business School in Hong Kong, SAR. A dedicated motivational leader of change, he combines a strategic vision with the ability to construct and implement complex yet feasible operational solutions.
Mike DeVries – Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Mike DeVries leads global sales, marketing, customer development and strategic alliances for SilkRoad. Mike is a successful global technology executive with a passion for building great customer relationships and disrupting markets with customer focused innovation.
Most recently, Mike served as President of DataSong, a leading provider of advanced analytics solutions to top retail brands where he built new customer relationships with top tier retail brands. After the acquisition by Marketshare (and subsequently Neustar), Mike served as Head of Business Management at Marketshare / Nuestar. He has previously served as CEO of a leading SaaS analytics company, Instill, where he led the company to record financial results and a successful exit.
In 2001, Mike founded 3Hill Ventures, a strategic consulting and technology investment firm that has advised numerous businesses and investors across the technology industry. Earlier, Mike served in marketing and business leadership roles for several technology start-ups including Wakesoft (sold), Versata (IPO), Persistence (IPO), and Synon (sold).
After receiving his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mike served at General Electric Corporation for 10 years in various IT management, corporate staff and general management positions.
David Winter – Senior Vice President, Products and Innovation
David Winter leads product management, strategy and innovation for SilkRoad. A seasoned entrepreneur, David has 20 years of industry experience as a software product and services executive. He has held positions in early-stage startups and large multi-national corporations. David co-founded Sigma Dynamics, a real-time predictive analytics company that was acquired by Oracle. Most recently David scaled an analytics team from 2 analysts to 80+ analytics and data science professionals and was part of a large acquisition by ADP where David ran Global Data Science.
Mark Long – Senior Vice President of Sales, North America
Mark Long serves as SVP of North American Sales at SilkRoad. He oversees the sales and lead generation teams and is tasked with helping SilkRoad maintain superior organizational excellence while consistently growing revenue, new client acquisition and increasing market value. Mark joined SilkRoad at its inception in 2003 as one of the original members of the sales team. Since then, he has held several different sales and sales management roles at SilkRoad before being promoted to SVP of North American Sales in 2014. Mark is a market veteran with over 18 years of sales experience in the software and technology industry. Prior to joining SilkRoad, Mark was an Enterprise Software Sales Rep with Divine selling content management and collaboration software. Mark received his B.S. Degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
