    Chicago, IL

A recent Aberdeen Group study, sponsored in part by SilkRoad technology, inc., the leading provider of talent management solutions, looks at how organizations take the administrative nightmare out of managing benefits, scheduling, payroll, compliance, and other functions of core HR. The report found that top performing companies in Core HR lowered error rate in payroll processing to just 0.5% and reduced manual transactions by 7% year-over-year.

Aberdeen interviewed more than 160 organizations for the study, The Future of Core HR: Building the Business Case for Automation and Integration, and concluded that automation, integration, and employee self-service are the keys to a more efficient HR practice. The report also found that by streamlining transaction times and giving employees greater autonomy through self-service capabilities, companies achieved 18% higher engagement scores than their competitors.

Companies that reached Aberdeen's top performer status in Core HR also achieved better business results by having accurate data to make more educated workforce decisions. Aberdeen's research also found that the integration of manager self-service tools and workforce dashboards results in nearly two-and-a-half times greater improvement in staff productivity, 180% greater improvement in revenue per employee, and 125% greater reduction in overtime costs.

'Aberdeen's recent study on Core HR shows the importance of having a system that makes information such as employee count, job vacancies, salaries, and other key employee information easily accessible in achieving peak organization performance,' said Andrew J. 'Flip' Filipowski, Executive Chairman and CEO of SilkRoad technology. 'We're always striving to help companies better manage all of the functions related to core HR, so we are thrilled to partner with Aberdeen again to provide this valuable information and research to organizations.'

'At the end of the day, Aberdeen's goal is to educate human capital management professionals on how to continuously evolve their departments to better enable decision makers in achieving business goals,' said Jayson Saba, Research Analyst, Human Capital Management, and the author of the benchmark report. 'The study found that top performing organizations are automating manual HR processes and integrating core HR with other systems to reduce the tactical burden on HR and drive this evolution, ultimately, towards accomplishing business results.'

Aberdeen's report includes more detail on how organizations are achieving greater accuracy in core HR reporting, while reducing effort and freeing up time for more strategic HCM initiatives. Complimentary access to this report is available by SilkRoad technology and can be found here.
